SCPUK Interview #02 « Thread Started on Dec 18, 2006, 5:37pm »
Barno, founder/manager of barnoproductions and animator/co-founder of SCPUK, is interviewed by the Minister of Disguise in SCPUK, Dan, back on 26th October 2006.
Dan: I'm now talking to the creator of barnoproductions and the spearhead of SCPUK
Barno: You damn well are, or I'm not the one they call Barno. CRACKERJACKS!
D: Great! Now tell your loyal viewers of SCPUK抯 great works what it is like having the obligation to represent Britain in a great light in your field?
B: Well I dunno about representing the Queen and country, but we do have pride in our homeland indeed, and much inspiration is drawn from it. I suppose we do represent a small part of animations/games/Flash in the U.K. along with many others in the Flash community, such as the legendary David Firth & Super Flash Bros.
D: Yes those are rather legendary names within the animating community. And how do you feel you represent your many devoted fans and close friends who are members of the SCPUK forum?
B: Now I would say we at SCPUK are able to represent the "devoted fans" (of which there may be a maximum of 12) in quite a lot of our work. I read a lot of reviews on the Flash submissions we make on Newgrounds and elsewhere and take ideas on board to make things better in the future; for example "SMASH!: Reloaded" was full of suggestions from fans and friends alike. I've got to give thanks to the forum members who have given a great deal of help to SCPUK in our work, which means a lot to us, and we will reward you with new, enriched and f*cking freely fantastic flash films and games in the future. I feel that in our productions we are often able to give back to the Smoking Chimney fans.
D: So, can you inform these people of what is to come from SCPUK and barnoproductions in the near and not too distance future?
B: Of course I can't let everything slip like a man on a banana skin, but I can inform you that the so-called 'Big Guns' are coming, being '//.uppercut ZERO', 'Elephant Game 4: The Vicissitude Of The Flaming Kenneths' and the codenamed "SMASH!: XI". I would've included 'BACON? 2: Requiem' on that list, had it not already been released. However, as I expect these to take a long while with a lot of production, there will of course be other, I suppose, 'smaller soldiers' in the making, which are usually not planned, but for example some 'bpX: Skits' and also 'Welcome To Crapville', which I have had in the pipeline for a while now, which feature's the parody lion Azlan. Expect to see more of the smaller things in the 'not too distant future' - as well as maybe something 'seasonal'...
D: On the subject of futre projects: Are there any ideas/storylines or even any films in the pipeline for the Premiere Trilogy?
B: I have to say I really enjoyed filming the 'Trilogy. I think we got to 'Part Eta', being the 6th film, with our most expensive ever scene constituted of about 4 toy army paratroopers filmed underwater. However, although I haven't particular planned to continue 'Part Eta', there could be a film coming because they are great fun to make. In fact last year I wrote a script for a parody of 'A Christmas Carol' by d*ckens, so maybe that could be undertaken this Christmas.
D: Let us hope so. Barno's snakepit....Atrioventricular...is the band near it's international debut album, which the name of, at the moment, is highly top secret? And are there any other singles, EPs or records planed on the horizon?
B: Although this is not directly related to SCPUK, I have tried to integrate the two on occasion, including putting 'The Official Ironing Soundtrack, Part 2' on the menu for "Vending Vendetta II" and doing a music video for a song by Atrioventricular called 'Crayons'. However, since you brought it up, we are working on the album, and slowly, but surely getting it done. The band hopes to combine 'light hearted comical songs' with 'more serious meaningful' ones. Take a look at the MySpace for info and updates.
D: Well I cannot wait and I'm sure your many groupies cannot either :P. Barno thank you for your precious time!
B: That is no damn problem, and thanks to sweet, sweet, SAAAA-WEEEEET Joey Johnson's honey roasted bacon pies! Friends of AV, SCPUK and barnoproductions, take care and farewell!
